What is Endodontics
Endodontics is the diagnosis, management, and treatment of disease of the pulp and the surrounding bone of the tooth. The pulp is the tissue inside of the innermost part of the tooth known as the Root Canal and consists of blood vessels, various cells, and the nerves of the tooth. If this area becomes infected, then Endodontic Therapy may be needed in order to remove the infection, alleviate discomfort, and ultimately help the patient keep their tooth. Endodontics is often called the “Root Canal Specialty”.
